Niav Connor
Niav
Connor
brings
a depth
of
personal
experience,
creativity
and
joy
to
her
teaching.
With
seventeen
years
of
personal
yoga
practice
experience
and
four
years
of
teaching
experience,
she
is
knowledgeable
in
several
forms
of
hatha
yoga
including
Iyengar,
Vinyasa,
Power,
Bikram
and
Forrest.

Her
teaching
focuses
on
mindfulness
of
breath
and
safety
in
postures
with
particular
emphasis
on
developing
core
strength.
In
addition
to
completing
her
teacher
training
with
yoga
master,
Ana
Forrest,
Niav
has
studied
with
internationally
recognized
teachers
including
Cyndi
Lee,
Baron
Baptiste,
and
Shiva
Rea.
She
is
also
a
15-year
practitioner
of
vipassana
or
insight
meditation.
Niav has been actively walking a path of healing and recovery through various personal growth movements for the past thirteen years. Currently, she teaches ongoing yoga classes at the Santa Barbara Yoga Center, while pursuing a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology, specializing in Prenatal and Perinatal Psychology at the Santa Barbara Graduate Institute in Santa Barbara, CA.
Sarah Scharf
Sarah Scharf has been dancing her whole life and practicing
different forms of yoga for four years. She recently completed
a teacher training course with Ana Forrest. Sarah brings
her knowledge of dance, bodywork and theater to her yoga
teaching.

Her dance experience includes performance and study of
Afro-Brazilian, Ballet, Burlesque, Flamenco, Hula, Israeli
Folk, Jazz, Middle-Eastern, Modern, and Tap, The focus of
her teaching is to bring students deeper into feeling by
embodying spirit and staying connected to breath. She is
constantly learning new ways to connect to spirit through
breath and movement. Sarah holds a B.A. in Dramatic Arts
from UCSB, studied bodywork at the Santa Barbara Body Therapy
Institute, and continues to study yoga and dance with various
local teachers.
